About Jaylen’s Journey



To promote awareness and early intervention through outreach and support. To ensure that children from underserved communities who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are linked to public and private agencies and they receive the needed services that will impact their emotional, physical, social and educational development.



To ensure that children in low income communities are armed with the resources, tools, support and information needed to increase their personal outcomes, so they will have greater educational and social opportunities.



To minimize barriers to learning, promote educational success and create opportunity to meet developmental milestones.

Danielle has over 25 years of experience in working with children and families. She’s worked with 3 major nonprofits in New York City, which included, the Abyssinian Development Corporation, Women in Need and West Harlem Group Assistance. There she held many positions, developed her craft and participated in several committees including working with the Department of Homeless Services on Ending Homelessness. She moved to Washington DC and worked for the Coalition for the Homeless and took her career to a higher level as Vice President of Programs for Reston Interfaith in Virginia, (which is now Cornerstones). She received accolades for her involvement in the development of the Partnership to Permanent Housing Program, and working with local agencies in providing services that housed over 40 individuals and families from Hurricane Katrina.

She received her undergraduate degree from Touro College and Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University in New York City both with a specialization in child and family services. She received supervision training from Howard University. She served on two non-profit boards.

She is married to Retired SFC Derrick Clemons Sr. and together they have 5 children. She is excited about Jaylen’s Journey and can’t wait to help as many families as possible. She spends most of her time with family and traveling to visit family and friends. She is enthusiastic, personable and believe in moving people forward and towards their personal best.
